One of the few great things about the pandemic was that musicians had enough time to form wild zip code based combos. Rule: One can only see three people? No problemo! Let it be bass and drums and guitar then! That’s how in February 2021 Bonaparte, Sophie Hunger, LCD Soundsystem bass wizard Tyler Pope and Dutch drummer Wouter Rentema formed a spontaneous lockdown live group for ARTE LIVE supporting closed venues such as their home club Holzmarkt in Berlin. Long story short: They decided to record two of the cover songs they performed there and write two more originals for a debut EP titled “1”.
On December 21st 2021 – as an early Christmas present – they shared the first song “Daft punk spielen in meinem Haus” – an Hommage to Tyler’s heritage and the German version of turning home into the place to be! The debut EP “1” was released on January 21st 2022 and will be followed by a few exclusive live festival appearances in 2022. A second EP is already in the making and will also be released later this year.
