Boko Yout

Paul Adamah (b. 1998), known professionally as Boko Yout, is a multi-talented creative who has swiftly emerged as one of Sweden’s most promising new musical talents, with undeniable international potential. With his self-styled genre Afro-grunge Adamah blends unfiltered storytelling with a rich, multidimensional creative expression spanning music, fashion, design, and performance art. Through his work, he seeks to challenge conventions and offer new perspectives on what it means to be a young black man today. Since his debut EP »AS SEEN ON TV« in 2023, Boko Yout has captivated audiences with his raw, compelling sound and electrifying live performances. This EP, where each track represents a channel in a fictional TV network, draws on themes of identity, representation, and societal stereotypes—a nod to the work of sociologist Stuart Hall. »AS SEEN ON TV« earned Adamah the Manifest Gala’s „Newcomer of the Year“ award and a Grammy nomination in the same category. Adamah has become known for his dynamic live shows, weaving theatrical monologues, jam sessions, and interactive elements into his sets, Boko Yout creates a concert experience that goes beyond music, presenting the audience with a raw glimpse into his artistic vision. In early 2024, he released his latest EP »Griot« in collaboration with musician and producer boerd (Bård Ericson). This project combines British trip-hop and ambient influences with Adamah’s introspective lyrics and powerful vocals, further solidifying his position as an artist to watch. Closing out 2024, Boko Yout released his single »IGNORED« on November 29 through Hoopdiggas Recordings. Inspired by his time at the Royal Institute of Art, the single reflects his thoughts on creative freedom, personal growth, and the struggle to retain curiosity in a world that often stifles artistic expression. „In like a lion, out like a swine“ is a line from the chorus that encapsulates his inner conflict— a journey of maintaining pride and avoiding cynicism in the face of institutional limitations. Produced by Joel Kiviaho, the track’s raw, driving rhythm sets the tone for this new phase of Adamah’s artistic journey. In 2025, Boko Yout was honored as one of 15 nominees for the prestigious MME Awards, solidifying his reputation as a rising star on the European music scene. With multiple accolades and a highly anticipated new project on the way, 2025 is shaping up to be a defining year in his career.
