The European Slackerqueen in-the-making releases her new single 'In My Head' and announces her debut album 'Power Nap’, that will be released on August 30th.
Just two years ago a 21 year old Ilgen-Nur stepped onto a club stage for the very first time, releasing her her debut EP 'No Emotions’ via tape soon after. The themes of the Hamburg based songwriter revolve around growing up and finding a place in a world where queer and feminist voices are still too often ignored. She has already played festivals like The Great Escape, Waves Vienna, Spot and Reeperbahn Festival and has been selling out headline shows in Germany.
‘In My Head' is a song driven by a deep yearning for unknown and distant places that see Ilgen playfully combine casual indie pop with a slacker-rock attitude and DIY-aesthetics. Musically this falls in line with recent outings from Snail Mail, Nilüfer Yanya and Courtney Barnett, but also builds on the sounds of Indie-Rock veterans like Pavement and Built to Spill.
